Cardiff BIMSE members lead by Prof Haijiang Li, attends the International Standards Summit on October 28-31, 2019, China, hosted by China Construction Technology Group, jointly with China Communications Construction Group and Railway BIM Alliance, and co-organized by a global authority, buildingSMART International.

Automated compliance checking

One of the deliverables for the MetaBIM project is to produce a system to automate compliance checking to BS EN ISO 19650, and other national collaboration standards for BIM.

The Joint BIM for Smart Engineering Center between DUT and CU

The BIMSE center relies on the scientific research capabilities of both CU and the DUT. Its focus is based on large-scale engineering calculations, optimization, and artificial intelligence.

BIM supported PPP

Public-private partnerships (PPPs) have proliferated and adapted to public development. Value for money (VfM) assessment as one of the essential components in PPP, defines the feasibility of project procurement model. However, evaluating value for money in PPPs remains problematic. Given concerns about PPP’s profitability, a more integrated platform is needed to manage multiple performances throughout the project lifecycle. Building information modeling (BIM), popular in architecture, engineering and construction, provides resources which could support VfM.

International BIM Symposium 2016

Sponsored by Royal Academy of Engineering (UK) and Engineering School in Cardiff University, this international BIM symposium in Cardiff university intends to leverage the joint forces from UK, USA and China to bridge BIM research with policymaking and industry implementation.
